Mute Soundproofing® created a flexible soundproof area for a client who required a private and peaceful, yet ‘flexible’ sleeping area, that, after use, could be almost entirely opened-up, to restore the expansive feel of the open-plan, warehouse apartment.

Additionally, because the client is a fashion photographer, who regularly uses the space for shoots, the solution needed to be simple and inconspicuous.

Mute Soundproofing® designed and installed an enlarged, acoustic, pocket door system, which functions as a fully retractable partition wall, dividing the space on demand.

 

On a similar theme, Mute Soundproofing® had previously designed and installed an enlarged, acoustic, pivot door system for a one bed, new build flat in Dalston. On this occasion, to create a ‘flexible’ study/2nd bedroom, within an open-plan sitting room/kitchen.

The benefit of the pivot door system, in this instance, is the option to increase or decrease the floor area of the connecting spaces, as per the resting door position, with the flush fitting, floor to ceiling dimensions of the door, giving the sense of a static partition.
